Katherine Heisler
Owner Katherine Heisler was a hobbyist vintner for nearly 30 years before purchasing BrewTech. She always had a ‘wine room’ in her home, where she would have as many as seven batches of wine on the go. One Christmas many years ago, her daughter made a sign to hang in the wine room that read: “Wine Central – No Sour Grapes Allowed!” And, the idea of Wine Central was born. When Katherine and her husband Jim moved to the Okanagan, Jim suggested Katherine make her wine on premises. It was then Katherine realized she missed the production so much. With Jim’s support, Katherine bought BrewTech. Now, she’s happily making hundreds of wines at a time! Katherine is proud to be an authorized retailer of Winexpert products, which she firmly believes are the very best available on the market. Katherine’s favourite Selection is any (or all!) of the Limited Editions annual releases—she always makes two of each!
Rod McLeod
Rod McLeod is Wine Central’s Production Manager. A master of efficiency, Rod has helped streamline the production end of our business. Rod has been a hobbyist vintner for about 30 years, and has worked in the industry for the past 12. Rod and Katherine make a great team when it comes to creating signature recipes and wines for clients. They have as much fun making the wine as you will drinking it! Rod’s favourite Selection is the Selection Estate Italian Piedmont Barolo.
