Maria, Rod and Katherine won 7 awards in the WineMaker Magazine amateur Winemaking contest! There were 4,508 entries from 8 countries, and we brought home 7 awards. That brings our total to 15 awards over the past 3 years!
Sara has a beautiful new puppy. She’s a Chocolate Lab, and is named Jersey. Jersey is growing like a weed, and Sara and her husband are taking her to puppy school. Jersey is quite active—and very strong. We noticed a scab on Sara’s elbow caused by tripping and falling over Jersey. Of course we’ve all fallen in love with Jersey!
Rod is heading to Fort St. John to attend his granddaughter’s graduation the end of June. He’s looking forward to spending time with his daughter and her husband, and his 2 grandchildren. Rod’s been busy planting his gardens and working on his irrigation (or as he calls it his “irritation”).
Maria’s Mother is arriving on June 17th. she is the lovely spanish lady from Great Britain. Maria will be working part-time while her Mom is visiting so they can spend as much time together as possible.
Katherine came home from the Fermenters Guild of BC Trade show and Convention as a new Director of the FGBC. She’s looking forward to helping promote the industry and educate the public and retailers on practices and standards.
We’re changing things up at Wine Central… we’re putting in a new bottling station so two people can bottle at the same time. We think it will be lots of fun—customers will be able to visit with one another, and find out which wines the other is making and enjoying. We’ve also just purchased a carboy washer. You won’t see it unless you’re in the production area, but it will make our jobs a little easier in the back. We keep trying to improve, and if you have any suggestions to help, please let us know. We’re always open to new ideas.
Wine Central has a fantastic new promotion on for the month of June. This month-long event features the selected wines of France at 10% savings on the kit. These are premium wine kits—ready in 6 weeks.
